Hi all - Due to the inactivity here, I'd like to delete this Ning group. We just haven't reached a level of membership to sustain the group, perhaps because I haven't had time to promote it adequately. Or maybe because there are so many other pla...

Our theme this summer is "Be Creative!" Thoughts so far are art lessons by a local artist and gallery owner, possibly a sibling band for the music end. Thinking of creating musical instruments--maybe a talent show. This is my first year here and I...

Hello, It is nice to meet you. It is raining and cold here. The weekend was wonderfully warm. I can't wait until summer. Our theme is Be Creative @ Your Library. It is going to be a blast. How about you? Are you a children's librarian?

Thanks for the welcome!

Rebecca here from LHPL. This summer we are going from the norm and doing "Pirates of the Readibbean". Still in the planning stages and hoping the community will not pull out too much funding due to the recession.

I will try to come back in a couple weeks with an update.

I am interested in how each of your libraries use reading incentives. We have been giving small prizes and then awarding a large prize to the kids who have read the most. We also have a drawing at our end of summer reading party.
