Getschooled.com is promoting a Virtual Summer Book Club.Teens can compete with other teens online to win books, gift cards, and even e-readers! All they have to do is sign up and log on to the website each week and earn points by participating in activities such book chats, play games, take polls, recommend books to other teens, and more. These points can then be used to score cool gifts!

Here's a great initiative about "making" and learning through the worldwide web. This is a great way to celebrate learning on a grander scale. You can sign up to "join the maker party" and join in on the celebration. Themes and events that took place ranged from journalism to robot making, and traveling.

For those interested in Summer Youth Programming, HASTAC/MacArthur Foundation is having a Summer Youth Programming Competition.
